Book Review – Fuse

Fuse

What’s it about? Fuse is the second book in the Pure trilogy by Julianna Baggot. If you haven’t read Pure, you’re in for a treat! Read my review here. Anywho, Fuse continues the quest of Pressia, Bradwell, Partridge, Lyda and my personal favorite – El Capitan. I freakin’ love this guy. Well, to be fair, he’s really two guys, isn’t he? Fused with his brother, El Capitan rises to fulll-blown main character status in this book.

Unlike many second books in trilogies (who shall remain nameless), quite a bit happens in this part deux. I won’t spoil it for you, but I definitely read it with as much enthusiasm as the first book. Ms. Baggott weaves the same intense, horribly beautiful descriptions through this book as she did in the first. If you loved Pure, you’ll be thrilled to be back in the story with Fuse.

And can we talk about the book covers? I know, I know. But really, don’t you just love it? And when you see the cover in real life, they have an especially interesting spot gloss design that I heart. Yes I know that’s all the rage in Young Adult book covers. No, I don’t care. I’m so bourgeois 🙂

Should you read it? Yes! Start now before the third book comes out. Ms. Baggott’s writing style is a bit lengthy, which I think most readers really love, but it does mean it might take you a little longer to read the books. You’ll be glad you did.
