Book Review – Impostor by Susanne Winnacker

Impostor: A Variants Novel

What’s it about? If I had to give this book a one line description, it would be “X-Men meets The Lying Game.” Tess is a Variant, a kid with special powers who goes to school in the secret government FEA Headquarters. Her skill, absorbing the DNA of others and then becoming that person, makes her a unique pick for her first real mission – become Madison, a murdered girl in Oregon, to find her killer. Alec, her hunky crush who’s in a relationship with another Variant, tags along to help her out. Tessa absorbs Madison’s seemingly idyllic life just as she absorbed her DNA – loving parents, popularity in highschool, and a seemingly normal life. But when another victim is added to the growing body count, can Tessa find who the murderer is? Will Alec finally realize he might have feelings for her, too?

Should you read it? If you liked the X-Men movies, you’ll like this book, too. It has a great cover and an interesting premise.
