What’s it about? Prodigy is book two in the Legend series by Marie Lu. In the future, America has been split in to two warring factions – the Republic, and the Colonies. Day is a rebel from a poor family in the Republic, and June is a rich orphan wunderkind being groomed for the military. The star crossed almost lovers are separated in this second book again by the Patriots, a rebel group bent on taking down the Republic government and starting a revolution. Will June and Day help the Patriots with the assassination of the elector? What is it the Patriots are trying to hide? Can their love overcome their differences?

Should you read it? If you loved The Hunger Games, this is the series for you. Day is suitably dreamy, and June kicks rear. Great characters all around. Read my review of book one, Legend.
