The Lying Game – Series Continued

Never Have I Ever (Lying Game Series #2)

I’ve recently finished books two and three of the lying game series. Apparently, two more books are coming out this summer and early next Spring. That’s a five-book series, peeps. Five books! Congrats, Sara Shepard. I’m impressed.

Like I said in my last review of the first book, this is not the type of stuff I usually read. However, I received it for Christmas so I felt that I had to try and read it. It was actually really good. You can’t go wrong with a murder mystery narrated by a dead girl, can you?

The great thing about Sara Shepard is she has the teenage-girl voice down pat. I mean, really. Read a passage of dialogue and tell me that it doesn’t sound like you eavesdropped in a dressing room at Nordstrom Rack. I’d love to have that snarky, mean-girl attitude down like Ms. Shepard does. I recently heard YA author Kim Derting speak at PNWA and she mentioned she has eavesdropped before to get good dialogue, so there you go. Maybe that’s the secret! I’ll have to pay more attention the next time I’m at the dance studio.

Check out the second book of the series here. I’m excited to read the next books!
